Michael Opondo, is a Transformational Diplomacy activist for the geo-political area of Africa and the Middle East, focusing on Peace/conflict, Security and the priority trickle down issues.

Currently, he works with the European Commission as a Research and Innovation expert with his assignments mainly concerning research and innovation, falling within the Horizon 2020 programme designed to address the challenges Europe is facing through funding excellent science, technology and innovation. He also hold the position of Executive Director at the Common Ground Centre, an independent research and outreach institute, with particular focus on the development of context-based functional responses to the different forms of challenges of reciprocal conflicts, violent extremism and public diplomacy.
